Another remarkable session of Nauka uz kafu is behind us — and this one was also the most attended so far, with interest continuing even after the event had already begun. This clearly shows how close and important science is to the broader community when approached in a clear, open, and genuinely enthusiastic way.
This time, with a lecture by Dr. Miralem Mehić on “The secrets of quantum cryptography: Security at the highest level,” we opened one of the most relevant questions of our time:
“How will quantum technologies transform communication security, and how prepared is Bosnia and Herzegovina for the arrival of the quantum era?”
The discussion explored several key themes, including:
- the future of digital security in a world of quantum computers,
- Bosnia and Herzegovina’s readiness to respond to the challenges of quantum transition,
- the shortage of expert professionals and the potential of the local academic community,
- the importance of education and motivating young people to stay in science,
- the professor’s personal career path that led him into quantum research.
The community wants to know what lies ahead, to understand the technologies shaping the world, and to be prepared for changes that are happening in real time.
