Developers can build apps using OpenAI’s beta SDK, with access to sample code, UI libraries, and submission guides. Already available apps include well-known tools like Photoshop, Canva, Spotify, DoorDash, and Zillow — all usable without leaving the ChatGPT environment.
With this move, OpenAI is pushing ChatGPT further toward becoming a universal interface for digital services, rather than just a traditional assistant. However, experiences from earlier efforts such as the GPT Store suggest that availability alone does not guarantee meaningful user adoption.
