NVIDIA and researchers from Stanford have just introduced “Test-Time Training” (TTT), an artificial intelligence technique that enables the generation of longer videos than was previously possible. With this innovation, it’s now possible to create one-minute-long cartoons with significantly greater consistency and improved storytelling.
This system allows for the creation of animations that last a full minute, with a consistent and smooth flow across all scenes, which performs significantly better compared to previous methods according to human evaluations.
TTT layers use neural networks as memory, allowing the model to remember and maintain consistency throughout longer sequences. The team demonstrated this technology using Tom and Jerry cartoons, showcasing multi-scene stories with dynamic movements and character interactions.
This approach enhances existing video generation models by adding TTT layers, which enable the production of longer video clips than previous versions could handle.
Why is this important?
AI video technology saw tremendous progress last year, but one of the biggest challenges remains video duration and maintaining consistency across different frames. This new approach could unlock the potential for telling longer, more coherent stories.

And what about you? Do you believe AI will soon become the main tool for creating animations?
