Anthropic has launched Cowork, a new macOS application that brings the agent capabilities of Claude Code to everyday tasks such as file organization, report creation, and expense management. The tool operates within a dedicated folder on the Mac, where Claude autonomously organizes, edits, and creates documents on behalf of the user.
Integrations with third-party apps like Asana and Notion are already included, with optional browser control via a Chrome extension. Users can assign multiple tasks at once and check progress later, which Anthropic describes as delegating to a colleague rather than a bot.
Cowork is available in a research preview version, initially for Max tier users and exclusively through the platform’s macOS app. This feature allows a wider range of users to leverage Claude’s agent capabilities, extending access that was previously primarily aimed at developers to all kinds of tasks.
