Anthropic’s campaign takes aim at OpenAI

Anthropic has introduced Claude Opus 4.6, its most powerful model to date, bringing multi-agent collaboration in Claude Code, an enormous context window, and new integrations with Office tools, including PowerPoint.

The new “team agent” feature allows multiple AI agents to share a single project and work in parallel instead of step by step. Opus 4.6 introduces a 1 million token context window, making it ideal for large documents and code, while new sidebars in Excel and PowerPoint allow Claude to read existing templates and generate models or presentations directly, without the need to copy and paste.

The model dominated most agent benchmark tests, including a nearly 70% jump on ARC-AGI-2, although OAI’s Codex 5.3 soon took the lead in agent coding. For developers, this is a significant milestone, as both updates bring substantial growth in capabilities, while critics claiming AI is “hitting a wall” remain quiet in the face of such progress.
