Robotics startup Figure, recently valued at an astonishing $39 billion, has launched an ambitious initiative called Project Go-Big — an effort to build the world’s largest video database of human behavior in everyday home environments. The goal is clear: to teach robots how to behave naturally and independently in real-world domestic settings.
Through a partnership with global real estate giant Brookfield, Figure plans to install cameras in thousands of apartments worldwide to capture data on daily routines — from cooking and cleaning to interacting with other people and objects. CEO Brett Adcock describes this move as a necessary step since “robotics has long suffered from a chronic lack of data at internet scale.”
Powered by its Helix AI model, Figure’s robots are now learning directly from real-world videos, gaining skills that far exceed those achievable in lab conditions. The model allows robots to interpret unpredictable household situations and respond to natural language commands such as “help me fold the laundry” or “pass me a glass of water.”
If the company’s claims are accurate, Figure currently has access to data from over 100,000 real homes — creating the first authentic, large-scale dataset for humanoid robots. This could mark a turning point in the development of universal home robots — machines that not only perform tasks but also understand context, habits, and the dynamics of human life.
