YouTube ships new AI tools for creators

YouTube has unveiled over 30 new AI tools for creators at its Made on YouTube event, significantly raising the bar in content creation. Google’s Veo 3 Fast model is now freely available to all Shorts creators, enabling 480p video generation with sound directly from text prompts. This gives creators a simple way to turn ideas into finished videos faster, boosting productivity and encouraging more experimentation.

Another key update is the auto-dubbing feature with advanced lip sync, which not only changes the language of speech but also visually aligns lip movements to the new audio in more than 20 languages. This is particularly valuable for global creators aiming to reach audiences beyond their native language and region.

AI also now automatically identifies highlights from long videos and converts them into Shorts — a huge advantage for podcasters and long-form creators seeking extra visibility in vertical content.

Creators also gain access to the new Ask Studio chatbot, which uses channel data to answer performance questions and provide optimization suggestions — essentially a built-in AI analytics assistant. Another major addition is Edit with AI, which transforms raw footage into a first draft by adding transitions, music, and voiceover, allowing creators to begin editing with a prepared outline.

These innovations show that YouTube sees AI not just as a supportive feature, but as a central tool in content creation. By empowering creators to produce higher-quality content faster and more efficiently, YouTube secures a competitive edge with Google’s strength in visual and video AI models.
